Self-Care Saturday: Lunch at Maketto

My goal every Saturday is to try a new restaurant in DC and this week’s choice was Maketto on H Street. It’s a cool place that has a restaurant specializing in Cambodian and Taiwanese dishes, a retail store full of international footwear, clothing, and accessories and lastly a cafe serving coffee, tea, and everything in between. With so many restaurants on H Street I had a difficult time choosing but the warm and hip atmosphere in Maketto made it an obvious winner. I tried the Chicken Confit Lo Mein ($14) and it was delicious. The noodles were firm and flavorful while the sweet soy sauce had just the right combination of sweet and tangy. I’m a lover of mushrooms and this dish had several types including shiitake and oyster. The portion size was fair for a lunch meal. I heard that the dinner menu is amazing and I can’t wait to try it. Whether you’re living in the city  or visiting, I highly recommend Maketto!
